I have studied and practiced art throughout most of my life. For an artist, all the life and art experience combines to bring quality and richness to the work at hand. For me, a portrait isn't just a picture of someone. That's the starting point; that's understood. Something else is necessary - it's brought out during the process and that something turns it into art. It may be subtle but it's necessary. That's my job.
